CHALLENGE
Rebrand a boutique hotel to create a full brand identity program. Design the primary identity and apply it to a variety of brand touch points across media. Design a brand manual to communicate who the brand is, what they stand for, and what is to be expected.

SOLUTION
Hotel Flavia located in Oaxaca, Mexico received a brand refresh beginning with extensive research and analysis of the existing brand. The new name, Ópalo de Oaxaca, was inspired by two characteristics of the opal stone. One being its symbolism for loyalty and confidence, and the other being the birthstone of October (the month that the hotel had first opened). The tagline, An Elevated Encounter, communicates the luxe presence of the hotel. The primary type was chosen to reflect the rectangular nature of the hotel; which then became the primary logo using the O. The muted color palette and use of photography was inspired by its modern interiors and dim lit charm. The simplicity, elegance, and boldness translate harmoniously across all brand touchpoints.
